I listen carefully to Buyers & Sellers, and work to meet the individual needs of each.
-
Sellers: I will market your home aggressively to get it SOLD in the shortest possible time, for the best price the market will support, with the least amount of hassle for you. Ask about my Guaranteed Performance Agreement.
-
Buyers: I am a strong advocate of Buyer Representation to help you realize your home-ownership dreams. I promise to understand your needs and find a home that fits your lifestyle and price range. If a new home is an option, I'll connect you with the best builders in the area. Through my many lender contacts, I can help you select the most appropriate package for your situation from among the many different types of available loans and purchase assistance programs. In partnership with Madison Gas & Electric Company, I educate home buyers about Home Performance Ratings and Energy Efficient Mortgages which allow energy improvements to be financed, providing savings that can more than offset slightly higher monthly loan payments. |
I've lived and worked in the Dane County area for over 34 years, as a full-time REALTOR® for more than 13 of those, and have been a Madison homeowner since 1990 (owning 3 different homes here since then, plus two others as second homes elsewhere in the state), so my knowledge of the area and the housing market is extensive. Previously, after earning a BS in Biochemistry, MS in Forestry, and "all but dissertation" PhD in Land Resources (through the Gaylord Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies) at the UW-Madison, I taught life science subjects at both the high school and university levels, and worked in various capacities for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR), including the Bureaus of Endangered Resources (State Natural Areas) and Information Management (GIS programming & development). I was also the staff Ecologist for the International Crane Foundation in Baraboo during the mid 1980's, where I managed the 160 acre site of restored habitats and also helped organize and produce an International Crane Workshop held in Qui Qui Har, Heilongjiang, China in 1987.
When not helping families and individuals find or sell their home, I enjoy spending time outdoors. I especially like kayaking, both whitewater (that's me to the left, going over the 18' Big Sandy Falls in West Virginia) and Great Lakes touring (shown at right, below). Other acrivities include rock climbing and rapelling, and sculling (also shown below). I've also been actively involved as a volunteer with my church, First Unitarian Society, and as an advisor/mentor to teen-age youth. Until stepping down in 2006, I served for six years on the Board of Directors for the Madison Area Community Land Trust (MACLT), an organization dedicated to permanently-affordable housing, and the developer of the nationally renowned Troy Gardens Community of Madison's northeast side. I've also been a frequent volunteer (and sponsor, along with First Weber) at the annual Susan G. Komen "Race for the Cure" to support Breast Cancer research. |
