The South Central Wisconsin Housing Foundation - The Foundation makes available to qualified applicants a low-interest, short term loan to be used for down payment and/or closing costs associated with the purchase of a home.
 Madison Area Community Land Trust - The MACLT is a non-profit organization seeking to promote affordable housing for first time home buyers at or below 80% of Median income in the Madison and Dane County area. The Community Land Trust model keeps housing affordable for future generations by helping homeowners purchase their house, but not the land (this lowers the purchase price). The land is leased from the land trust. In exchange, when Community Land Trust homeowners sell their home, by written agreement 75% of the appreciated value stays with the house, so it's more affordable for the next buyer. Since its founding in 1985, the Partnership has compiled a lengthy record of success in making housing and neighborhoods work for people. Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) - Serving Wisconsin Communities by providing creative financing resources to residents and businesses.
Dane County Housing Authority - works to further affordable housing for low-income families via: -Housing Resource Center-Provides first-time homebuyer's education classes, one-on-one financial and ownership counseling, materials on the homebuying process, budgeting, and credit information -Down Payment Assistance Program-Eligible first-time homebuyers may obtain down-payment assistance of up to $7,000 (some restrictions apply)
Common Wealth Development - Lease-Purchase Program provides affordable home ownership opportunities to low and moderate-income individuals. Federal funds to help residents weatherize their homes will help hundreds of low-income families in the Madison area as well as create a number of jobs. More Details
